Movies

The Internet Movie Database is a wonderful source to search for the most favorite actor or director and all it's production.

Some of the highlights

In depths..

Of course almost any movie is just the start for new research on knowledge and then you end up on a surprising journey to meet people like Craig Murray, former UK Ambassador to Uzbekistan, who's highly interesting blog reports on this surprising background information.

Movies

Of course there are many movies i enjoy. What i mainly follow are however movies with some real dramatic and engaged real life content. Sometimes i do like to have a laugh as well and share it with you..

The list of movies on the right is largely incomplete and far more movies are of great interest to me and therefore this list is just a small sample of what i like and solicits my interests and get's me carried away..

Of course having read the book of Patrik Süsskind i did not want to miss the movie Perfume and found it excellent, matching my expectations.

An other movie I liked very much was Amadeus. A movie which started in me the curiosity for lyrics. Antonio Salieri believes that Mozart's music is divine. He wishes he was himself as good a musician as Mozart so that he can praise the Lord through composing.

Juliette Binoche is likely one of my favourite actresses. Be it in Trois couleurs: Bleu or in Chocolat. Gérard Depardieu on the other hand is an actor which I enjoyed most in una pura formalità.

Of course I enjoy movies like 11'09''01 - September 11 on more serious issues or Fahrenheit 9/11 and the more recent Sicko of Michael Moore.

The Constant Gardener and movies like Ilaria Alpi - Il più crudele dei giorni which make us aware that often truth is different from what is reported, make me curious to search for my own truth behind the facts of this world.

So i spend time watching the serious The Century of the Self or The Trap on Google and many other freely available sources of interest like documentaries on Big Noise Films or on facts about the Lebanon by Noam Chomsky or Howard Zinn - in Madison.

The revolution will not be televised can be watched directly from Google and you can find Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land on Youtube or on Media Education Foundation. Of course I will also like to give credit to Bill Moyers for the many hours of interesting news he provides. Many other documentaries can be found and it is good advice to take them with a grain of salt: MoneyMasters, LooseChange Rize Women Without Men Skeletons

Probably one of the movies which shows Italy's recent history at it's best:

The Best of Youth (La meglio gioventù)

A movie which describes in an incredible way the civil war of Lebanon is this one:

The Lemon Tree describes the conflict in Israel Palestine in a wonderful way

Departures - my favourite Japanese movie
